Nipple squeezing, ball tapping OK for ROK troops

by Andy Jackson on June 11, 2008

in South Korea

Well, this will certainly make life in the barracks more exciting (Korea Times):

Squeezing a person’s nipple or hitting their genitals with the back of one’s hand does not constitute sexual harassment if the incident took place in military barracks, the Supreme Court recently ruled.

No word on if the cupping of one’s family jewels is right out.

That certainly moves things past the one grope rule. Korean society is progressing. Whether or not that progress is a good thing is up for debate.

You know someone’s going to get confused and tap the nipples and squeeze the balls.

What about if I do those things for myself in the office? Is that going to constitute harassment?

A captain was…also charged with kicking [a corporal and two other subordinates'] shins, ordering them to lay prostrate on their fists, and forcing them to shine their boots.

That bastard! What other cruelty compares to the secret shame a man feels knowing that the shine on his shoes was forced by another man?

Beats having your immediate superior take you into a bathroom and demanding you perform oral sex on him. Then, when you refuse, he beats you within an inch of your life*.
Allegedly, officers demanding head from subordinates happens quite a bit here!

*told to me by a close Korean friend about a friend of theirs.
