Andrew Douch, one of the two Kiwis who hiked the Baekdudaegan last year, is now hiking the Nakdong-Jeongmaek trail from Busan to Mt. Taebaeksan. And he’s blogging it.
One blog I’ve been meaning to mention for a week now is Mr. Lee Looking at the World (Korean), a man with a camera and a mission to capture Korea and Japan’s early modern history. This has rapidly become one of my favorite blogs… in any language. Like this humble blog, you’ll find lots of travelogues with pretty pictures of early 20th century buildings. Unlike me, however, Mr. Lee travels quite a bit in Japan, visiting early modern historical sites there. Since the paths of modernity in Korea and Japan were for obvious reasons linked, the blog is a good opportunity to compare and contrast. Two thumbs up. Way up!
