Don't be silly "user". Chinese students can spend their time reading about their leadership how they are dealing with dealing with child labor slave problems back home: www.nytimes.com/2008/05/01/world/asia/01china.html?hp
It's more pertinent to them probably.

How far is Duke University from Washington D.C.? Even though this is about North Korea and not Tibet, maybe some of the students who have harassed Grace Wang should be sent up there to hear a different perspective on their country's benevolence.

Took a bus from NY to DC just to watch Crossing during the evening screening this past Monday at the Ebenezer Cafe. It was brutally realistic; you could hear many people crying throughout the whole film.

I don't believe most people who want to watch Crossing see it because they want to be entertained so I'm not going to comment so much on the artistry of it. (Other than the fact that Korean movies, including this one, cant help but to have rain storm scenes and all its cheesy symbolism with it) But I do appreciate the movie for portraying the dire living situation for most N. Koreans so realistically. I think the sufferings portrayed in the movie are nothing new to those who are well-informed of the situation in NK, yet we're so conditioned by Hollywood to subtly want some level of happiness and redemption for the characters even though the odds are against them.

Crossing was really heavy and sobering, but it's hard to be be disappointed with it for portraying the plight of NK refugees so realistically. I think that it will be informative to many South Koreans who remain ignorant of the situation and hopefully, compel them to do something about it; one refugee at a time.
