A nice and probably well-intentioned idea, but a little late in coming. Each time I head home for a visit, I never fail to hear a story or two from a friend or cousin about how somebody they know went over to Korea and got screwed over on airfare, housing, pay, etc. (I should point out that in some cases, the teacher in question supposedly enjoyed the overall experience, in spite of getting shafted here and there.) Anyway, maybe some good will come from this.

I congratulate (NIIED) President Rhee Taek-soo for his open minded perspective. Regardless of what settles out in the end, he seems to be approaching things with an appropriate amount of political candor.

What’s with the comments, though? It looks like someone is going out of his way to incite hatred against foreign residents of Korea by posting rather offensive comments against Koreans and Asians in general.
