The release of the US remake of “My Sassy Girl” looms ominously before us — here’s the trailer:

Well, at least Elisha Cuthbert is cute.

Here’s the original Korean trailer, for comparison’s sake:

This doesn’t look good at all!

Of course, I didn’t care too much for the original either!

Will be interesting to see how it pans out. I kind of enjoyed the first one in a take-your-brain-out-and-watch kind of way. The thing that made it interesting for me were all the small (and sometimes not so subtle) cultural references and plays.

I will probably watch the remake, but it will probably suck.

Evidently, advanced screenings have come generally positive.

At least the Americans keep silly romantic comedies to 90mins. 엽기적인그녀 was way too long.

That’s why I’m not convinced this will work with a North American audience. The original was written and filmed when it was still rare to see Korean couples holding hands in public. I’m just not sure that North American women can sympathize with the title character…then again, the remake might have been made with a younger target audience in mind.

Doubt it. The main male character is a working professional.

One of the best romantic comedies I’ve ever seen was the British movie “Sliding Doors” with Gwenyth Paltrow and that guy who was also in The Mummy movies.

What the hell? That’s a remake?
Maybe they should have both died in the train
accident and then woke up in opposite ends of Korea with
functioning cardboard replicas of 2007 Samsung cellphones
    in 1988.
