Yeah, some halves end-up looking very white or very asian rather then a blend.
There was this one time where the attendant at the local fitness gym looked like a brunette version of a younger Jilian Barbarie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....e=related). I’d see her a couple of times a week, she’d check my gym card and I wouldn’t give it a second thought. One day she said “annyeonghaseyo” without any accent, insah-ed me and offered me those shrimp chips, and I was like, “Huh? What’s a white girl doing greeting me in Korean and giving me Korean snacks?
Turns out she’s half Korean and white, a student at Cal State Long Beach and her Korean grandma lives with her. She told me all this in pretty decent Korean, and I was a bit beside myself with a Jillian Barbarie look-alike talking to me in Korean.
And who the hell names their daughter “Reagan”?

An artcle in last week’s NYT on the Lopez brothers (which did not mention Wie, BTW) noted that daddy was Cuban and mommy was white.
