According to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), Koreans account for the largest number of international university-level students to Migukland.
Of the nearly 1 million international students in the US (as of Jan 15, 2008), 103,394 were Koreans. They were followed by Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and those sneaky Canadians.
Business and management was reportedly the most popular major among international students.
Now, this brings me to something a reader emailed to me a couple of weeks ago that, alas, I never managed to post. In an article about the possible sale of US fighter jets to India — a very interesting prospect in and of itself — Bloomberg mentions sort of as an aside:
Last year, 83,833 Indians studied in the U.S., while 67,723 went to China and 62,392 went to South Korea, according to the institute.
Korea’s the third largest destination for Indians studying abroad? Who knew?

The problem is south asians, trying to get into the US, use forged South Korean passports.
Btw that 50,000 number is total and not per year. Considering the millions of Chinese and Mexican immigrants I’d say its relatively low.
I had no idea there were that many Indian students in S.K. Nice to see some cooperation especially since Buddhism is from India.
#3, That might make them a target of bullying my wacko Christians though…
