An airman at Osan Air Base was released after an 18-year-old girl accusing him of rape recanted her story:
South Korea’s top news story on Thursday turned out to be a lie, after an 18-year-old South Korean woman told police she fabricated a story about an Osan airman raping her because she didn’t want to tell her mother she was having sex.[...]
The woman reported the rape early Wednesday morning, after she came home, began bleeding from the pubic area and lost consciousness, Yoon said.
The woman’s mother called an ambulance, and during the ride to the hospital, the daughter regained consciousness and asked why she was going to the hospital.
When her mother described her symptoms, the daughter said she had been raped because she was afraid of being chastised, the spokesman said.
During questioning out of her mother’s presence on Thursday afternoon, the woman told police she had consensual sex with the airmen for the fourth time the night of the alleged rape.
Somebody’s going to get a beating when she gets home.

I haven’t been following the news in the last few days. Has the Korean media covered this latest development or have shown sign of losing interest in the story?
PS. Maybe she should get tested for chlamydia.

Maybe it would have been better for her to miss her curfew just this once. It must be hard to go home when you’re bleeding and feeling faint like that.
“South Korea’s top news story on Thursday turned out to be a lie”
I wonder how often in modern history that was the case — and how often corrections or retractions were published.
“the woman told police she had consensual sex with the airmen for the fourth time the night of the alleged rape.
Am I readng that right? AirMEN, as in, plural?
lol I suppose it was a typo, much like “readng”.
Gecko, possibly a typo. More likely a Freudian slip. I also highly doubt it was just the “fourth time.”
Bleeding and passed out? Right after having had sex? Miscarrage? At any rate, the Korean public will not remember that the woman lied. They will remember that she cried “Rape” and add it to their long list of American offenses…
Let’s hope not, since the retraction came so quickly.
In some other cases of reported lies, the retraction came way too late.
#7. You are correct. The barbarian is always the guilty wrong-doer. How dare he deflower our nation’s daughter!
Blame it on the Marines in Japan!
