It’s the Jeongwol Daeboreum.

If you’re looking for good places to see the full moon, the Seoul Shinmun gives you the five best places in Korea to do it.

But this Full Moon eclipse will not I fear be visible from Korea - as it takes place late afternoon (I think), at which time the Full Moon will not have risen.

We won’t see it either, thanks to heavily overcast skies from a winter storm. I wish I could get some of that special Daeborum ogokbap with veggies.

I’m watching it right now. Clear skies over the Great Lakes tonight!

Known as 元宵 in the Chinese world, the last days of the traditional Chinese New Year festivities. I was invited yesterday in KL by a [Chinese] client to participate to the 十五瞑 Chap Goh Mei festivities, and while I didn’t see any moon, I did catch quite a feast anyway…

We did the yeesang thingy, which is kinda fun — and tastes great too. There was a lot more food too — Chinese being Chinese, one great part of the culture… — along with drinking and singing. How did they do before Karaoke was invented anyway?
