Anybody want to spend Seollal watching primary returns?

by Andy Jackson on January 29, 2008

I am trying to organize an informal get-together for lunch and watching Super Tuesday primary returns.   Wednesday, February 6 is the first day of the Seollal holidays, so it would be a good time to enjoy lunch and a beer or two in a half-empty city.

As for a location, I am currently looking into the VFW lodge and the USO canteen in Seoul (if they will be open then), but would appreciate any ideas.

I think I’ve got a root canal appointment then. ;-)

I dig these bee-like colors Marmot is experiementing with now.

I think these colors are for some of the folks who thought the pastels he had up earlier looked girly.

Yeah, I feel like I’m hanging out at a Georgia Tech web-site.

Hey, these colors are all Korean traditional colors:

Even the Korean Cultural Center of LA uses a similar color scheme:

Fucked if I know what I’ll do for a banner, though, with a flex-width layout.

or that we’re hanging at the borussia dortmund web site (for all you non-americans out there who have no idea what a georgia tech or boston bruins jersey is)

It’s funny that you’re getting bendt about our remarks concerning the decor but not about our being off-topic.
Ahem…Lovely colors and a splendid idea, Robert. Will there be soldiers in face paint cheering to a vein popping degree for one candidate or another?

I believe the scheme is a tad less Georgia Tech-ish now.

I’ve emailed the USO and VFW folks and hope to hear back from them soon. Once again, any other ideas for a site would be appreciated.

I’d love to join, as long as the conversation strays more toward politics than Marmot color schemes… I’ve got no recommendations for good places, but I think most places will be empty enough that day.

All this black and gold makes me feel like I’m at my recruiters office, someone stick a “go army” poster up somewhere…. yeah thats the one: http://www.nbc-links.com/graphics/army2logo.gif

Robert you need to go back to the one of the riot police with the fire in the foreground… be nostalgic…

Robert, I liked the little marmot sticking his head out the hole. Now that’s retro. Lose the fancy schmanzy colors man.

Have to work Wednesday- but if you do end up at the USO canteen, what time do you think you’ll be there Andy?

The color scheme is okay, but I don’t care for the photo collage. I preferred the changing banner image.

That 한국의 전통색 collection rivals any Sherwin-Williams sample display.
