Korea NOT a Sex Tourism Destination

by Robert Koehler on January 21, 2008

You’ll be happy to learn that the Congressional Research Service has removed Korea from a report listing major sex tourism destinations in Asia. No word yet on whether the CRS has apologized to Congressmen who arranged for junkets to Korea after reading the erroneous report.

That must have costed a pretty penny!

I agree. How much was paid to have the name removed, that is the million-dollar question.

How can it be removed after the report was written/distributed?

I don’t believe the article!

I am not a frequenter of the assorted pink aquariums but I have been into some of the strange little places on the hill. My wife even went one time because she badly wanted to see and talk to those she has dubbed, “scary women”. We’ll talk to the girls but once they realize we won’t buy them a drink they pretty much move to the other end of the bar. We’ve talked to a few guys, mostly military, and the price seems pretty high and they seem to be in a hurry to get their customers out of there. I think this contrasts sharply with what one might experience in the Philippines or Thailand. I don’t think a person who travels hundreds or even thousands of miles really wants a woman getting a phone call in the midst of things and saying, “Hi Mom. Oohhh nothing”. Or continuously asking you if you are done yet.

Why wouldn’t you buy her a drink? You and your wife were looking for entertainment, or information, or whatever- wasn’t it worth the price of a drink to you?

Dammit! I’m leaving!

Heh, I’ve heard plenty of stories about this famous line from my male compatriots in the office. :)

I agree with the report. Things changed quite a lot in Korea over the past 5 years which is why the flights to the Philippines and Thailand are now always fully booked with adeshis going on their “Golf Trips”. Wink, wink…say no more.

Sorry, If I wanted to pay twenty thousand won for a soft-drink I’d go to the Hyatt.

Hyatt has much better girls than the hill. Everyone knows that.
