Update: John Grayken is free at last! However, the representative of the Lone Star office in Seoul, Paul Yoo, isn’t being let off so easily:

“Prosecutors sought a 10-year prison sentence for Yoo and also asked for a fine of 4.2 billion won for him. The Seoul Central District Court is expected to deliver a verdict on Yoo’s case on Feb. 1.”

Just one more thing needed to make this thing laugh-out-fucking-loud complete:

John Grayken, please, for the love of god, please show up tomorrow in a hospital gown, unshaven, looking haggard, in a wheelchair, perhaps with an IV, mumbling something incoherent about wanting to go a Buddhist temple in the mountains for a period of reflection…will explain later.

My mind is divided on this.

On the one hand, John Grayken is enduring an injustice at the hands of Nosangmo prosecutor dimwits. I hope this is over for him soon.

The other (Schadenfreude) half of me hopes this thing drags on and eventually turns the rest of the world off from investing here. Then things might get cheap again and the koreans can reap the whirlwind from what they’ve sown.

Will they learn anything in the end either way? IMHO, not a chance!
