A Chinese-Irish Church in Gwangju

Bukdong Catholic Church in Gwangju, designed by Chinese Catholic and church builder Joseph Ka at the request of Bishop Thomas Quinlan of the Missionary Society of St. Columban. The church was completed in 1937.

I lived in gwangju for six years, and often took a walk by the church. The Church sits in the middle of gwangju at the base of hill. Up the hill there is a small foreigner cemetery next to the chirstian college at sits on the hill also.

then again the name doesn’t match a naver mapping search and a reference check of the location i was thinking of…. so what do i know…
