2MB is an interesting person. He is the first Hyundai President.

He outdid his master, THE Chung Joo Young.

He outdid Chung's son, Chung MG. (incidentally, they go to the same church)

2MB was successful in his bid, because he ran on a major party ticket, unlike the Chungs. Although, he was persecuted from outside, inside, and even threatened with jail time.

I have a feeling that 2MB knows what he's doing.

If he didn't, he'll create an excuse for citizens to vote Uri's back into Korean Congress early next year (just for the sake of opposing the canal), and I am so very sure that he is smart enough to avoid that, if he wants his 747 plan to pan through.

... Mr. Lee is working on a project that utilizes technology perfected before Christ was born.

true. but, it took Italians to make it vogue and i think that is essentially what LMB is after. "Sparkling" just isn't bringing the kitty home like it was supposed to, but ah ... if there was a canal, then you would have boats and music and women—"Vogue Korea".

#3,

Excellent point. They should improve and expand on the existing infrastructure, such as the KTX...then again, he's a construction company guy, not an economist. To loosely quote Marshall McLuhan, it's the case of being excellent at one specialized segment of attention and lacking the ability to focus on the whole field.

You'd think expanding the KTX network or some other "high tech" infrastructure would be more desirable. Instead, Mr. Lee is working on a project that utilizes technology perfected before Christ was born. I just can't understand the justification.
