Isn't it naive to assume a government won't shred files to protect itself? After all, even in the US the CIA disclosed this month it had destroyed tapes of officers questioning two al-Qaeda suspects. (This after the federal court ordered the government not to destroy any evidence of mistreatment or abuse). The US has already set the precedent. Oops, that comment was meant for the article above.
