Isn't it naive to assume a government won't shred files to protect itself? After all, even in the US the CIA disclosed this month it had destroyed tapes of officers questioning two al-Qaeda suspects. (This after the federal court  ordered the government not to destroy any evidence of mistreatment or abuse). The US has already set the precedent.</description>
