Sex and Alcohol

The Korea Institute for Sexology examines the issue of some Korean men who feel they have to end their drinking binges with sex, in order to feel “relieved”.  It cites the cases of two Korean men, who are married BTW, going to massage parlors, in order to fulfill their “urges.”  In the case of one Korean man, he tried to hold back his urges during a drinking party, but in the end couldn’t “contain the volcanic eruption.” When asked why they didn’t do it with their wives, one man simply stated, “Do you think my wife will say yes when she sees me stoned like this?”  It seems that this particular guy, at first had sex with his wife after getting drunk, but after he got an earful from his wife regarding his behavior, uhm…switched partners.

The institute says that the above can be considered as “sex addiction”, however it also states that if the married couple feels that it is “ok” then there are ”no problems”, that the addiction can be “difficult to detect” and diagnosis itself depends on the ability of the person to ”fight the urges.”  OK but IMO an addiction is an addiction and since I don’t see a “Sex Anonymous” here in Korea, maybe the institute should take the lead and set one up for the poor souls it cited in its “research”?

This is another fabricated news story. I didn’t notice any statistics, just a couple of anecdotes. Sports papers are Korea’s answer to the National Enquirer.

I think that these two wackos should be deported.

Ditto for those ‘working’ at the Korea Institute for Sexologorrhea.

Really more about alchohol-addiction than sex…

yeah, iganoS, but sports papers do provide at least the sports score and sports photos.

this is thanks to Japan, or due to Japan’s fault.

in many ways, better than the tabloid. It really is a man’s friend.

If I weren’t as twisted as you, and actually had a brain and some money, I might launch such a sporting newspaper in America. It’ll be a risk, I think.

I wouldn’t exactly call the sports papers here the “National Enquirers of Korea.” If one wants to compare it with non-Korean papers, the British tabloids are a close match to Korea’s sports papers.

However there are “National Enquirer” type papers here and they are called “Sunday Dailies” and are only sold in streetside and public transportation kiosks.

    #5,

Alcoholics can be sex addicts and vis versa.

In any case, while I don’t doubt they have narcissistic personalities, I’m not convinced all these guys are sex addicts.
