It seems that Mudville will never be the same.  The steroid report says that all thirty clubs had players doping at on time or another.  Naturally, the report criticizes the baseball commissioner and the player’s union.

I’m surprised at how short the list is frankly.

    kimchi,

It’s safe to say the list will grow. Who knows, maybe you’ll see Asian names on it.

The easy, but highly unscientific, way to figure out who is juicing and who isn’t is to compare the pictures of these players taken in their 30’s, mid-20’s and early-20s. It’s virtually impossible to pack on 100 pounds of muscle mass on top of already well developed musculature in 5 years or less without the help of performance enhancing drugs.

someguy, i think the list will grow as well and i personally do not mind if chan ho park and byung hyun kim is in the new growing list. i want them to face wrath of korean netizens since they suck so badly in major league.

According to the Chosun Ilbo, Chan Ho doesn’t suck… in fact, he gave up his dream of being a MLB star to represent his country’s team. That’s how they spun his refusal to a minor league contract this year.

Heh, if I had a body like theirs, I’d be damned to be living in Tokyo. How else could I fit into a bathtub like this? :D

@8 word. I’m a lifelong Reds fan, but when I hear “Pete Rose” I can only think “jackass.” I wonder if he’ll get in though. Barry will and Roger will though.

The list will grow, and many more will get away with it in all sports. The lure of money and fame.

It’s hard for me to believe that steroids would help improve hand/eye coordination when it comes to batting. My image of steroids is strong and dumb, not explosive bat speed and better timing.

Is there a reason I should care if ballplayers use steroids?

They may not get that plaque in Cooperstown, but they’ll always have their shriveled testicles and uncontrollable outbursts of rage. Nobody can take those away.

Uncontrollable outbursts of rage? Only if they keep injecting themselves. Otherwise they’ll have uncontrollable outbursts of depression. And high-pitched voices.

    #12,

Train harder and longer. Faster recuperation, more power. Speed? Did you watch the World Baseball Classic? It seemed obvious enough to me that speed is not high on the list of most MLB players.

Yup, roids are for recovery. #12 You get good at something by training for whatever it is you are doing. Most people I talk to have no idea about what steroids really do.

Asian players might be taking designer steroids which, unless tested for specifically, won’t be detected.

Of course, there’s other crap you can take like insulin, HGH etc… to help you along.
