Prosecution Once Investigated Possible Bribes to the President

According to the story that’s just come out, the Prosecution, in 2004, twice investigated the possiblity that a “election congratulatory fund” was paid to the President or persons related to the President after the 2002 Presidential Election.  One of the investigations concerned suspicions that a “person close to the President” laundered 130 billion Won(about 130 million USD) in suspected bribes through “K” Securities and “H” Bank.  (MBC News revealed the full names of the companies involved).

However the investigations were quietly concluded after the prosecutors supposedly found no evidence to back up the suspicions.

So, is this the reason why Roh wasn’t too happy about the Samsung Special Prosecutor Bill?

And what ever became of the rumors, and the ensuing investigation, that one of his relatives, a farmer, would be driven to work by a limousine shortly after the elections?

Well, maybe the farmer was the guy who laundered the 130 billion Won.

The consolation fund, given to the election loser, has been seen in the past. That the loser gets a couple of millions bucks the congratulation fund certainly resonates with plausibility.
