    The bad part is that it’s going to suck going back to the states and putting up with 2-5Mb download speeds (if that) which after having this 100Mb connection, will seem like 56k dialup.

    Japan and Korea can battle on fiber optic domestic connections all they want, but they’re nothing more than domestic. I actually get about 95 of my 100mb on my fiber connection from Apple Japan movie trailers, but good luck getting 1/10th of that from an American server :/

    This is one area where we need China. They’re trying to build backbone to the western world to keep up with today’s needs. They want S. Korea and Japan to jump on board too. Of course China wants complete control of the line, so I don’t think Japan or Korea will cooperate; can you imagine China filtering our internet too?
