We never invited them. Some have applied for refugee status - which, I expect, will be denied - and others are floating under the radar. The ones who have applied will likely get to chance to plead their case, and I don’t imagine tracking down the few dozen other guys who might have crossed over the border is much of a law enforcement priority.
I don’t agree with the war in Iraq, but those soldiers were volunteers. I think they should go home to face the music. If it were Canadian soldiers trying to skip out on Afghanistan - a conflict I happen to support - I would say the same thing.
