I’ve been told by another blogger that the Asia Blog Awards won’t be taking place this year.
If true (and I can’t verify it for sure), this is something of a shame, because the awards — certain problems notwithstanding — were a good opportunity to read and discover quality blogs you might not ordinarily encounter.
Anyway, I post this with the hope that a discussion might develop as to what could be done to either revive the awards or replace it with another event that might provide a venue for regional bloggers to “show their stuff,” so to speak.
I look forward to reading your (constructive) suggestions.

Yeah, that was weird. I was nominated for Best Asia Video Blog last year, and I think there never was a vote for it.
I think I recall there being a vote, but no results were ever released.
I voted for occidentalism.org
ZenKimchi, the awards of which you speak, and of which our man Robert was to be one of the judges (along with a democratic vote) was mysteriously abandoned (though there is no fault to Robert as he was not the organiser).
Robert, I think if you haven’t heard of any Asia blog awards, then no notable and recognised Asia blog award exists. We should come to some sort of consensus and work to rectify it.
