One day before Pres. Roh goes up North, S. Korea is sending 10 truckloads of cargo up North. The items include luggage for the 300 members of the delegation, computers, telephones, photocopiers, snacks, medicine, and gifts such as Korean traditional tea sets, LCD-TVs and 150 DVDs of S. Korean dramas and movies. And yes D-War is included in the DVDs that are going northward.
Also going North are refrigerated trucks containing food for the banquet that Roh will be hosting in honor of his N. Korean hosts.
For reference, ahead of the 2000 summit, S. Korea shipped 7 truckloads of stuff up North.
That’s a lot of stuff going up North. Why do I get the feeling that besides the “official” gifts that there may be ahem “unofficial” gifts among the North bound cargo?

Wow. Just imagine how many apple boxes full of cash you could stuff in in just half a truck, let alone ten of them. You know, hidden behind the boxes of Shin Ramyeon and Choco Pies.
When the South pays tribute to the North Koreans, they don’t kid around do they? Is is protocol for a visiting leader to bring truckloads of food - and God knows what else - to host a banquet for his actual hosts? (And there is no guarantee the guests, oops I mean the hosts, will even attend!)
D-War does seem to cheapen the package a little, but I would guess that it would go over great with whichever select members of North Korea’s elite who might find themselves at a private screening someday.
Again, can anybody tell me what South Korea is getting out of this? Whatever happened to the reciprocity and transparency that was supposed to be integral to the “sunshine”?
Will they even bring back the trucks?
“Will they even bring back the trucks?”
I’m sure at least the tires will come back if they’re made by Hankook, not Keumho.
man, I wish I could make an enemy of South Korea. They’re the best OpFor you could ever ask for!
Maybe Roh could have brought along Bush’s $25 million so that the White House could save on Western-Union charges.

Roh could probably carry Bush’s $25 mil in his pocket as there probably won’t be any room left in the trucks stacked to the roof with won. Nice to see how effective diplomacy is in dealing with North Korea. Now even Bush is kissing KJI’s butt.
this post feels a bit chosunilboish to me.
