Well, this doesn’t sound good:
Regarding questions as to whether the South Korean president should attend such a performance marred by allegations of child abuse, South Korean Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung retorted whether the lengthy training of South Korean children for a play or sports event could be viewed as abuse was uncertain. Regarding North Korea’s [...]

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse. The S. Korean government is considering financing “inter-Korean cooperation” by cutting the defense budget.
In a memo, the ministry detailed several possible ways to raise funds, saying that the government may need to come up with more financial resources if the summit brings about a number of [...]

The student festival is going on at my little college, which includes live performances. I was just putting the final touches on this week’s work when I heard some members of my school’s “rock circle” belting out Bon Jovi’s “You give love a bad name.” In case you were wondering, yes it is actually possible [...]

Not that it has anything to do with Korea — other than a shared history as a small nation with a history of uninvited visits from its larger neighbors — but I found this quote by Filip Dewinter, head of the far-right nationalist Flemish Bloc, to be quite humorous:
“We are two different nations, an artificial [...]

Archaeologists will get a crack at Japan’s royal tombs, some of which have recently been opened by the imperial household agency. This could prove fascinating, although depending on what archeologists find, Japanese ultra-nationalists might be somewhat dismayed:
Although the wartime emperor, Hirohito, renounced his divine status after Japan’s defeat in 1945, ultra-nationalists regard his son, the [...]

Shin Jeong-ah has finally checked herself into a hospital.
One wonders what took so long.
The head of the hospital she’s staying at said she’s showing signs of dehydration, probably because she hasn’t been eating properly for the last couple of days.
Immediately after checking in, she apparently said she wanted to eat “Saeukkang” and “Jjanggu,” two popular [...]
