Two USFK Made Honorary Citizens of Uljin County

And in some good news concerning USFK, Brigadier General Raymond Mason, commander of the 19th Theater Support Command, and Command Sgt. Major George Duncan have been made honorary citizens of Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the first time the county has granted that honor to a foreigner.

Apparently, the Staff Sgt. Audie Murphy Club of the 19th Theater Support Command had been providing English classes once a month to Uljin area middle and high schools, and set up an English camp during the summer vacation.

Uljin’s a pretty little fishing village on the East Sea coast, pictures of which (taken in January) you can see here.

It’s nice to see a positive USFK-related story being reported.

Uljin is one of the nicer stops along the east coast highway. Great photos.

Congratulations! Uljin County is my favorite part of Korea. It’s very laid back and very off the beaten path. I need to get back to the Deokgu Spa soon.
