Things I’d Never Thought I’d See in Korea

by Robert Koehler on September 20, 2007

Today, on the way to work, I saw a Jaguar S-Type with a “Ron Paul: Hope for America” bumper sticker.

A conservative libertarian… Pardon my ignorance, but is he just another fence-sitter whose main role is to distract the attention of the undecided voters away from the Democrat’s candidates?

is he just another…sorry.

That’s nothing … I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac.

What democratic candidates? Status-quo Clinton, or Do-nothing Obama?

Distract undecided voters? What!

Paul’s non-interventionist foreign policy and fiscal conservative monetary policy set him apart from all other candidates in either party.

Distract undecided voters? From whom?

From the Democrats who were voted in to defund the war and didn’t so that they could run against it in ’08, in one of the most cynical and self-serving manouvers in American political history?

Even worse, Speaker Peolsi gave the president the green light to launch another undeclared war (on Iran) after she was booed at the AIPAC conference.

Some foreigner in Korea has amazing political sense! Ron Paul! Ron Paul! Ron Paul!

I just visited Paul’s campaign website, where I noticed that his ‘quill’ was only half-full. Does anyone else think it’s a bit odd for a politician to be telling any and all how much ink is in his pen?

An endorsement from a noted groupie of the Japanese far right with only the flimsiest grasp of US politics ain’t gonna help Ron Paul.

If I were his age and my pen were still half full, I’d be publicizing it too. ;)

Oh yeah, just what America needs… another Texas Republican. ;)

Ha! You guys are idiots…. :-)

But look on the bright side, compared to a guy driving a Jaguar S-Type with a “Ron Paul: Hope for America” bumper sticker on it in Korea, you’re all highly sophisticated and thoughtful people.

Well … yesterday at Kyung Hee University, I saw a Korean student wearing an Arkansas Razorbacks sweatshirt!

Being from the Arkansas Ozarks, I nearly hugged him … except that he was a little bit too much another man for me to do that.

Ah, if only the wearer had been a woman…

As for Ron Paul, isn’t Silly Sally one of his supporters? Perhaps you had a Silly Sally sighting…
