Former Reunification Min. Park, “Denuking NK a High Priority”

Former Reunification Minister Park Jae-kyu, the architect of the 2000 summit between Kim Dae-Jung and Kim Jong Il has stated that Pres. Roh should raise the issue of denuclearization during his upcoming summit with KJI.

This is in contrast to Pres. Roh’s comments that he will not discuss the nuclear issue during the upcoming summit.

Is it me or are the people responsible for creating this whole mess in the first place, trying to distance themselves before the whole thing really hits the fan?

It is always an ominous sign when a former administration official comes out with recommendations for the current regime.

Maybe it is time for a pinch hitter.

Maybe Roh could ask Park Jae-kyu to be “a little more clear.” Roh doesn’t speak common sense.

Roh seems to have a habit of doing the opposite of what needs to/should be done. Maybe if Lee Myung Bak or the US Ambassador said that NK should keep the nukes, then that whole reverse psychology thing would kick in and Roh would de-nuke the North.

30 years ago my father (who is now 60) worked for Park Jae Kyu. At the time, Mr Park operated a successful hair wig business in NYC. I was a bit amused to hear this.
