Roh, Kim Jong-il and Putin Angling for Arafat Nobel Prize: Report

The Monthly Joongang ran an interview with Anatoli Lee, former Presidential Adviser on Far East Affairs for Gorbachev and Yeltsin, in which Lee claims that Putin is trying to score a joint-Nobel Peace Prize in order to prolong his rule in Russia. Bullshit? Who knows. Anyway, Kim Sang-jin at Free Republic translated the piece for your reading enjoyment.

    Preposterous?

The only Nobel Prize any of these clowns might deserve is that for Literature in honor of how well they control their countries’ presses.

Not fair. A Nobel Peace Prize for “solving” Korea was supposed to be reserved for Pres Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

So we need to get the Nobel Committee to hold off until President Hillary Clinton can make her inaugural “apology tour” to various world leaders: I’m sure the two Koreas will rank high on the priority list of her destinations.

Once she’s set up the broad picture her husband can enter from stage left as ambassador extraordinare to seal the deal, accompanied no doubt by vast quantities of American aid. Should be good for a 4 way Nobel, assuming KJI can bring himself to throw Pres Roh enough concessions at the upcoming summit to get him re-elected.

With amplified Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress to pass the funding for North Korea. Such is the will of Allah!

The Nobel Peace Prize? Forget it. Some major villains have been given the prize, tainting it forever.

I suspect the Nobel Prize committee are not that dumb. There are obvious reasons why that dubious trio would not/should not be selected for a review.

The foreseeing wjk has stated already before that the Nobel Peace Prize is purely a political prize.

Thus, some major douche bags have won the prize.

Some can be viewed as criminals and monstrous people, given a heavily subjective pair of sunglasses.

I believe Bill Cliton was nominated once.

I can only imagine what it will be like if George W. Bush won it.

Although, I genuinely believe that he deserves to win it on pure merit.

But, I also believe that Stockholm/Oslo is too liberal for that.

#7 - That’s not really fair. wjk is a dyed-in-the-wool Republican, but that doesn’t make him a troll.

    #5,

Funny how you felt you had to mention Clinton but chose to forget Kim.

“They were told that there are two things Putin has to accomplish in order to get Nobel Peace Prize. First, stop using military force against Chechen rebels.”

hahaha…. it would be funny if it wasn’t so horrible…

Just give him the damn prize if he can meet the precondition.
