There seems to be many ways to teach English but I’m just not sure how “Hammer” should fit in. This effort is from Shanghai. I wonder if this has made its way to Korea yet.

Most hagwons wouldn’t allow you to do anything near this amusing.
Everyone knows that the best way to learn English is an armed mugging mixed to aerobics.

I don’t see any major problem with this lesson. It may seem a bit strange to use “Hammertime” but the way the teacher has got the students up and using English in a meaningful and fun way using physical activity is pretty sound pedagogy. Obviously, the kids had some language practice to be able to make the utterances that they did and they appear to understand what they are saying…this is much better than a teacher sitting in a class and having students play hangman for an hour.
Though it seems an odd choice for a teaching device, the kids are cute and it does engage the body and hopefully mind. I guess anything can be used as a learning device in the hands of a creative teacher.
