Of course there are murderers and crazy people throughout the world, but this type of murder/suicide seems to be more common with Koreans for some reason.

Why do you have this perception? #11 and #18 seem to think that this sort of crime isn’t publicized in Korea. If this is true, where would you get the idea that murder-suicide is more common with Koreans and how could you possibly compare unless you’ve seen stats? The plural of anecdote is not data.

I agree with WangKon936 : it’s best to avoid painting all Koreans with such a broad brush.

These kinds of murder-suicides are not unique to Korean culture.

If you want to vent your anger at injustices heaped upon you while in Korea or from those or Korean descent, you may get a little more sympathy if you do it with discretion and avoid painting current and potential Korean allies with the same racial brush you accuse of being painted on you.

It is a big story here, apparently the 911 call was placed by the wife as hubbie dear was chasing her down. He also tried to kill her by crashing is Range Rover into a pole in July. He was charged with aggrevated assualt but released on bail against the wishes of the Victoria Police.

I am sure these things happen in Korea due to the craziness that Koreans are famous for but I doubt it would make it into the Korean papers.

As an aside, I bought my first motorcycle at that address many years ago.

In other cultures, the bankrupt father might just kill himself, but for some reason these guys decide to take their families with them. Could be an extreme example of the negative side effects of excessive co-dependence in Korean family life.

Why? Because they are so scrupulously fair and non-judgemental to me and those who look like me? TV networks here beam anti-me propaganda into my parent-in-law living rooms every now and again,fer chrissake.

I’ve earned the right to diss Koreans, fairly or unfairly. They have no problem dishing nasty shit out, so let them take it once in a while. Although posting on the Hole, I know very very few Koreans are actually aware of anything here…
