Small world. I used to work at The Spokesman-Review and Doug Clark’s desk was right behind mine. Funny guy most of the time. Not so much at other times. He nailed this one though (pun intended).
Another person who worked at the paper back then was Jess Walter, who has gone on to a pretty successful career as a novelist. He was also the co-writer of Christopher Darden’s autobiography.
Oh yeah, and Larry Craig is a pr*ck.
I can’t view the videos through my dial up connection but the first one has been shown with relish on probably all the US cable all-news channels.
I like to imagine Bill Clinton watching it with that amused smile of his. Perhaps while playing the bongos and savoring the aroma of an unlit cigar.
Isn’t there an old saying, something about how if you wait by the side of the river long enough the body of your enemy will eventually float past you? If so, my memory of the provenance is vague — maybe it’s African, like “it takes a village”.
That was hella funny. Thanks for the links.
He’s resigning tomorrow. Vitter should, also.
The modern Republican “Party of Family Values and Preachers of Morality” is really a piece of work… if Hollywood had made the past year of Republican Hypocracy Meltdown as a movie, right-wingers would accuse it of extreme bias… but it’s just the Truth.
If I’m not mistaken Vitters hasn’t been indicted, much less convicted of anything yet. Plus he has tearfully acknowledged his sin(s?) before both the Louisiana voters and God almighty!
Also, evidently Vitters’ transgressions occurred before his Senatorial term began, so in this case I gather the Senate Ethics committee lacks jurisdiction.
Tell you what though — if you will acknowledge that good old Teddy should have resigned after Chappaquidick, and that good old Bubba should have resigned after Monica, I’ll be the first to drag up the soapbox and join you in a thunderous internet phillippic against Vitters, the current obsession of Democrat TV-pundit talking points.
You don’t even have to state this explicitly. Just whisper it softly, softly into your computer microphone; indicate that here with a cryptic codeword (something like “rosebud”). Only your internet service provider will know for sure.
# 7 Hear, hear!
Wow. There’s something about the way he says ‘nasty, naughty boy’ that really creeps me out.
How’d you like to be the cop assigned to the restroom fagbait squad? I guess I could be pretty proud of busting murderers and the like, but racking up a long list of restroom sex seeker busts…..ewww!
