Smoking Halo

Memo to the team at Microsoft: As you promote your new game Halo 3 in Korea, try not to have the “Master Chief” character be photographed buying cigarettes at a GS-25. It does not set a good example for the kiddies.

I am happy they are releasing the game just 3 days after the US release. Most other games take weeks to come here.

Hopefully, this time, it won’t be dubbed into korean like Halo 2 was.

    C’mon, Dram Man.

Master Chief blows up alien heads with double-handed plasma rifles, and players regularly take screenshots of each other “teabagging” their opponents in online deathmatches.

So, it’s not like this game, which involves massive mayhem with green and red blood splattering everywhere, is Mario Kart or anything. I say, let Master Chief get a smoke in between splatter matches. Most soldiers do, so it’s kinda fitting.

I think the picture’s funny, man.

Are you sure that is not a picture of a smash and grab in action?

I hate to say it but if he was in the U.S. , the cops would have darned near shot him just for looking like that. They have arrested guys wearing Imperial Stormtrooper costumes in the past.

It’s an amusing picture but smoking will kill him sooner than aliens will.

… smoking will kill him sooner than aliens will.

I dunno man, death by alien is usually pretty swift whereas smoking is a silent killer that takes decades to get you.

He’s lucky he’s not being accosted by housewives volunteering for the Korea non-smoking movement council. In the Korean Herald today was an editorial stating, “Smokers have already been evicted from their houses and offices. They should not complain of these additional inconveniences…” The author is talking about smoking while walking outside.
They’ve already had their homes ripped from them. They shouldn’t mind if we strap them to a rocket and send them into space. Of course, this guy is ready.

If I were in a hostile alien land, where strange scary creature are trying to kill me every other second, well, I’ll want some smokes too.

    Can’t blame him for that.
