Unfortunately the countries that were previously ruled by Communist leaders suffered great environmental and pollution problems. Interestingly if you go back in History to ancient civilizations. Those societies that abused the environment (via unsustainable farming practices) eventually collapsed!
As much as we complain, fact is energy is just too cheap!

The article is indeed very sobering, and I would venture to say that some could see it as inciting panic. Meanwhile, I find Google Ads presentation ironic and perhaps appropriate, given the environmental conditions:

demonize China in the press as much as you demonize Bush, ye cowardly newspaper writers.

You will be doing the world a tangible beneficial service.

every week, there should be a headline story with photographs of Chinese industry that is shocking to the west.

Only that way, we will see tangible change.

People are dumb. They need photographs.

don't blame Bush for global warming.

I, wjk, have been saying it over and over again that the true reason is China.

China refused to listen.

China refused to act.

China has been in complete denial.

Now, after some food recalls and toy recalls in the United States of America, China has literally cut some necks and seems to be on the move.

I think it's great news that the Chinese have taken action after seeing its largest market complaining of polluted goods imported from China.

Money made the Chinese act appropriately.

The love of money is what the PRC govt claims will unite all of China.

In this case, I'm glad it did.

although it didn't matter at all to them when South Koreans were complaining of pretty much the same.
