Thug Life

Have not seen it noted, but our favorite thug CEO, Kim Seong-young of Hanwha Group, is out of jail again for health reasons. Apparently he is depressed. The heart just bleeds for the guy doesn’t it?

Tough Guy!!. Beats up people with a bar (as long as said victim is held down by his cronies), cries when he has to serve jail time.
I have a friend who is the crime reporter for a tv network. He told me that the Korean crims are pathetic. At the court case, they usually break down, cry, and beg for mercy. Or maybe they are smart and know if they put on such an act, they will get off lightly. Maybe its a type of Paris Hilton (Princess) disease.
Back to the Hanwa dude, seems to be a common tactic employed by the elite, all around the world, who SUDDENLY have weak hearts, lungs yadda yadda yadda yadda.

My heart bleeds for the poor bastard.

A quick scan detected no articles on which criminals were “liberated” yesterday. Has anyone seen anything on that?

Isn’t depression a normal reaction to going to jail? I haven’t heard of many euphoric inmates. One has to question how strong the rule of law is in this country.

I’ve heard shock therapy is an effective treatment for heart problems.

I was going to mention something along the lines of “Depressed because the soap fell off his rope the other day”, but did not. Glad to see you vividly take up the slack Railwaycharm

Austin> No kidding, why can’t the guy be more creative. I always loved the way Lee Kun-hee of Samsung conveniently developed a need to have his lungs tested in the US when the prosecutors office started to snoop around him.

#7 Now you are just being cynical. Lee forgot about a Blockbuster rental and he did the noble thing by going back to the U.S. to return it. And for the love-child… Was not his, he pulled out way too early, nearly went off in his hand.

Dude, you think? Roh and Chun spent a year in jail after they had been sentenced to death for corruption. As far as I know, they have yet to pay a sip won in fines. Chun has yet to be charged for the Gwangju Massacre.

Why should he? They were begging for the bullets!

I have no idea why prison rape is supposed to be “funny”.

    # 5,

Per the book “Brother One Cell” prision rape is suppose to be non-existant in Korea.

I’m with Brendon — it’s a weird cultural meme, should be matured out of.
