OK, if you have something to say about Barry Bonds, say it here. Personally, yeah, the guy comes off as a dick, but I also think some of the criticism directed at him fails to take into account the changes baseball has undergone historically — see here.

If dog cock is considered a steriod, his record is tainted.
Or a steroid.
Blueballs, why does every other comment you post have to make some segue into gay sex?
If his dog’s cock is tainted, he must have been on steroids.
although Big Mac is arguably a less quality hitter than Bonds, Big Mac was denied entrance on his 1st try, with votes low enough to disqualify him and making him wait for a long many years before he becomes eligible again.
same will happen to Bonds.
Mac already told the world what he used. Yet, by trying to use the 5th in congress when he was asked a yes or no question, he chose to say something like, I exercise my legal right, blah, blah.
Bonds used growth hormone and anabolic steroids. In purer, more effectiive form than Babe Ruth may have had from eating balls.
It’s Bonds’s fault that he chose to use it after 1998.
and lied about it.
i have espn audio archived on my records , where when Bonds was asked what was different from this year versus other years in hitting 70 plus, Bonds says
” i don’t know. But it sure is special.”
then, the next season he touts Balco nutritional supplements.
a few years later, Balco gets busted because there is a loophole in the law that allows the federal govt of the United States to bust your ass any way they like it, when you cheat on your taxes.
Thanks heavens for that.
Poor Barry Bonds.
If it was anyone other than Balco, perhaps nobody would have ever known about his supplemental nutrition.
He cheated.
He had talent. But cheated.
end of story.
the record is analogous to fake tits.
baseball is responsible. IOC, cycling world has no problems erasing records and banning players. Major League Baseball does.
why?
MLB and the players made a boot load of money from Mac, Sosa, and Bonds.
where is the responsiblity?
they’re all cheating con artists, but I’ll never stop watching, buying, attending, and cheering. They’ve purchased my attention for life, and I expect to pay for it till I die.
On a more serious note, odds are that at least 30 percent of major leaguers have used steroids, and about 70 percent of them are dicks, so give Bonds his due.
Balls, I’m not one-hundred percent sure about this, but I think YoungRocco II dislikes you more than Dodger fans hate Barry Bonds.
don’t go uplifting the NFL, NBA, or the NHL for being cleaner.
I was told for years that nobody uses steroids in the NFL.
Ha.
HA.
HA !
people cheated in all sporting events for a long time, like Balco President told ABC news in jail.
the only difference is that there are certain organizations that test more aggresively as a result of it, and some choose to erase records.
That’s the Olympics.
NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL to my knowledge don’t erase records. For various modes of cheating. That’s really odd, because they make the most $ out of it.
NCAA is cleaner. Remember that the Fabulous Five of Michigan never existed. Although you say them play in 2 NCAA championship games, they didn’t play, says the revised record.
Can speak for anyone else, but I NEVER used steroids when I played in the NFL, NBA, and NHL.
Can’t…
Are you saying Korean men are genetically predisposed to loving the cock? Is it because they eat dog dick, tiger cock, or both? Is it possible to separate the influence of dog cock and tiger dick on the Korean male predisposition to love the cock? Or is the consumption of various animal cocks too complex to reduce into quantifiable percentages of influence?
I don’t have the answers. I just find it interesting that Korean culture puts such inordinately high value on eating the cocks of animals in the belief that it will influence the behavior of their own cocks. That doesn’t make me gay.
Now sucking two cocks while jerking off two other cocks and simultaneously receiving two more cocks in my rectum while having my own cock sucked and/or jerked off…THAT would make me gay.
Unless they were all priest’s cocks, in which case that would just make me an average altar boy enjoying the lord’s bounty on a Sunday afternoon.
that’s fairly very graphic and detailed, balls.
Did you watch that by any chance?
I’m not judging you.
… and the wankfest continues.
Barry Bonds is the man… he’s got more hormones than any of us. (I stole that line.)
and he’s got a very shriveled sack and pea-sized BALLS. (no Rocco, I’m not gay either)
and he’s got a really silly and increasingly high-pitched voice.
Now that he’s got Hammerin’ Hank’s record, I hope he goes after Ken Caminiti’s legacy.
After all the evidence out on Bonds,
all the accolades and press coverage
are hard to accept. There should have
been a definitive investigation before
we got to this point. Or at least
withhold the official stamp of approval
until there is a investigation.
“Are you saying Korean men are genetically predisposed to loving the cock? Is it because they eat dog dick, tiger cock, or both?”
–Blueballs
Keep your fantasies to yourself. Stop daydreaming and start looking for a job.
The greatest hitter in baseball history.
“Now sucking two cocks while jerking off two other cocks and simultaneously receiving two more cocks in my rectum while having my own cock sucked and/or jerked off…THAT would make me gay.”
Why is Blueballs’ allowed to call me a gaylord?
Where is the comment sheriff?
Further clear evidence of the anti-gyopo sentiment on this blog.
And no, blueballs, sucking two cocks while jerking off two other cocks and simultaneously receiving two more cocks in my rectum while having my own cock sucked and/or jerked off does not make one gay.
It just makes one very happy.
This was a very common activity for me and my friends at UCSD on the weekend, and take it from me, every one of us is quite straight.
Taking a broadminded approach to sexual activities such as those mentioned does not make one a homosexual.
.
Blueballs’ comment is also likely to influence the Google advertising. Has anybody clicked on those links yet?
Apart from the Marmot, that is.
i will say this about bonds
if he would just come out and say “i took them and i am sorry”
people would eventually forgive him like they did pete rose!
but hes so arrogant and stupid its actually offensive to hear him talk and ognore the whole subject
and near the end of the HR chase he was sitting out games to just have the chance to break it in san fransisco because he knew on th road he would have been booo’ed out of the stadium!!!!!!
BONDS just admit it and all will eventually be forgotten
time heals all wounds!!
People forgave Pete Rose???
McNut, are you by any chance from Ohio?
I hate Barry Bonds as much as the next guy. Maybe more, since I’m a Pittsburgher and Bonds had a knack of completely choking in the playoffs, then bolted from the Pirates as soon as he had big money thrown his way. The Pirates are playing towards their 15th consecutive losing season, they bitch about small market woes, and yet still have the ability to throw 20% of their payroll at a washed-up Matt Morris. Anyway . . .
Though I despise Bonds for cheating and breaking the law, it is ridiculous and insulting, the amount of scorn thrown Bonds’ way, especially by members of the media. Now, I know a lot of the criticism is generated to fill otherwise slow news days and to sell papers. (Most of ESPN is devoted to setting up and knocking down Straw Men and other ludicrous arguments). We just need to remember that these were the same outlets that didn’t seem to notice when McGwire and Sosa magically packed on muscle and tore up the record books. Whether they didn’t care, whether they were trying to erase the memory of the lock-out, whether they didn’t notice . . . who knows, but I object to members of the media suddenly taking some sort of moral high ground by moaning about the sanctity of the game being tainted. It’s very easy for them to now point fingers after Jose Canseco and Congress did all the heavy lifting.
The same goes for Bud Selig. He presided over the game during the peak years of the Steroid Era, and whether he congratulates Bonds or not, he will be tainted along with the drug users themselves.
As other sports people have said these past few decades (from the mid-80s to 2005) will have a huge asterisk (sp?) and be known as the Steroids Era. All records and accomplishments will be viewed with that in mind. Remember, too, that all generations have their flaws. Babe Ruth didn’t play against blacks. Roger Maris played more games than Ruth. Aaron played against expansion teams, and had the benefit of modern medicine (while Ruth and his peers didn’t). Bonds, Sosa, McGwire, and Palmiero (sp?) used, but so did a lot of the pitchers (I’m looking at you, Clemens).
I’m not much of a baseball fan (see paragraph #1), but I am rooting for A-Rod to break all these records in 7 years.
Baseball isn’t a sport. It’s a game.
…I mean, look at the gutt on those ball players. At least sumo wrestlers exhert themselves.
someguy,
shortstops and center fielders are usually slim and exceptionally fit.
I’ll let you learn more about the game of baseball to figure out why that is.
baseball is a sport that requires technique and a burst of power and agility.
Tell that not a sport stuff to Nolan Ryan or Roger Clemens.
“We just need to remember that these were the same outlets that didn’t seem to notice when McGwire and Sosa magically packed on muscle and tore up the record books. Whether they didn’t care, whether they were trying to erase the memory of the lock-out, whether they didn’t notice . . . who knows,”
It was probably the passage of 8-9 years, during which time the revelations emerged.
Wow Dlatn, I don’t quite understand. Alot must go on that I’m not aware of. I didn’t see where IHBB singled you out or called you or anyone a gaylord. Would that be Gaylord Perry? Now that guy cheated. He threw a ball with the kitchen sink attached to it. Hey, if you’re not cheating you’re not trying. Nobody likes a Jake.
And if that scene that IHBB conjured up isn’t gay, then my ideas of reality are skewed.
Bonds is going to catch shit because he’s got a false sense of self entitlement. He treats the media and the rest of the world as sub-species. He also treats us like idiots. He thinks that we’ll believe he, the ultimate control freak, didn’t know what he was putting into his body. At the height of the early investigations on Balco, when we first realized he was doing the clear and the cream, he actually used his son during interviews to deflect questions. The guy is the lowest of slime.
If you are a true fan, records become somewhat incidental. All that matters is the next World Series.
Dlatn, you went to UCSD. Pricey! Fine school though. Did you ever go up into that weird ass library? What’s that like? I myself went to SDSCC. Best community college in California. Go Aztecs!

Well, two athletes on the field doesn’t make it a sport. What about all the other players, the ones with a beer gut?
The problem with you argument is that you don’t need to be in top shape to be a good ball player, certainly not in MLB.
http://maximonline.com/slidesh.....p;src=mx16
Face it, if baseball is a sport, it’s a low impact one…like chess.
Not gonna argue with you someguy. If you’ve never played you won’t get it. There are guys with boilers but they’re usually specialists and would be better in their limited roles if they put down the bucket of fried chicken. If those guys make it to the playoffs it’s on the backs of their teammates who are in shape. 162 games is a long season. The ones in shape keep going.
IHBB, you’re sick, you’re twisted, you don’t get out enough, and the world needs more of your kind. Fag boy. But with an *.
As for Barry, say what you want - he’s aloof, arrogant, an asshole, whatever - but he loves the game, and plays it better than just about anyone ever has. (Although I agree with an earlier comment that, barring injury, this record will be owned by A-Rod some day).
The Barry-haters have been whipped into a frenzy by sports writers that have been derisively treated by Bonds for years.
He’s treated them to all the respect that many of them probably deserve. He knows it. They knew it. And they richly hate him for it.
And how many Gold Gloves does Bonds own? Due to ‘roids?
I’m not a fan of Barry Bonds, and I hate the Giants (but that’s a story for another day). However, you have to give the guy kudos for hitting that many home runs. Boosted or not, the guy still has to hit the ball.
I watched the record breaking game on TV here in Korea, and I will have to say that the congratulations announcement by Hank Aaron, one of the classiest guys in the history of baseball, will go a long way in removing the asterix from Bonds’ record. While most people, myself included, passed judgement on Bonds a long time ago, the fact remains that he has never tested positive for steroids nor been convicted (yet) of any wrong doing.
He didn’t have to test positive. He admitted it. He said he simply did what the top dog, who’s now in prison, of Balco told him to do. He admitted to using the clear and the cream but said he didn’t know what it was.
Look at the size of his dome for crying out loud. Any questions?
#29.
I’ve played baseball long enough to know that it’s a great game to play, but watching it is just slightly more interesting than watching mold grow.
So…not very long then.
Anyone know of an amateur men’s baseball league in Seoul? Not softball, but baseball. I played in college, and would love to play again, but never found a team. Probably not too likely, but thought I’d ask in case anyone had heard of anything.
