It’s quite simple really. They are envious of anyone who has the capacity for faith. They tend to be inwardly miserable and have to make you wrong so that they can be right.

To paraphrase myself…tolerance,no practice,no preach.I still don’t understand the narrow minded intolerance towards others spiritual beliefs,from any side of the multidimensional fence.Faith is just faith, not proof of existence, but lack of proof is not lack of existence.And please,JINX, your not allowed to say the bible is proof of god.Think of something better.I also realise that we will NEVER resolve this here.If god does show up,good on those who were right.If he never shows, the debate will never end.Patience and tolerance you freewillers.Now…after all, ain’t this fun? And I hope the poor fooles get home to their love and scorn safely.

I just hope they get out safe and sound. I also hope that from now on Korean church groups will think twice about participating in the sort of oneupmanship that has been taking place among the churches in the last few years.

I hope for a world one day when everybody would finally realize and accept that they’re nothing more than sophisticated meat robots just moving along until they stop moving.

I hope, but alas, I’m not going to actively work toward such a world. I also don’t like to tell little kids that Santa doesn’t exist.

I look at people of faith two ways,spiritual and religious.The spiritual ones I can admire and even envy because they live their live by their faith’s codes and don’t push it on others.The ‘religious’ go nuts over it and get all fired up when people don’t get it and try to shove their One True Faith in others faces.They get a high from it, not some kind of enlightenment.That’s my take on the situation.

I’ve been told the same thing about live Grateful Dead and Phish shows. Seriously, I’m very happy for those who find peace, happiness, purpose, meaning, etc. from their faith, and many people I know can attest to having experienced that moment of having seen the light, so the speak. Good for them. (Please bear in mind that my comments have been in response to a certain troll - I really should turn the other cheek and ignore him - who seems to get his kicks trying to belittle other people.)

I have a lot of respect for family and friends of mine who have faith. My problem is with the faithful who “have to make you wrong so that they can be right.” Not to suggest that you are one of those people.
