Interesting map (originally from the Globe & Mail) of the United States where the name of each state is replaced with that of a nation with a similar GDP. South Korea’s GDP is roughly the same as Florida’s, while the Great White North’s GDP is equal to that of Texas. The Russian economy, coincidentally, is the size of New Jersey’s.

North Carolina only matches up with Sweden? I’d better giver the gov’na a call and tell him to get things in gear.
New York has the same size economy as Brazil, and the women are just as hot.
Boy, New Hampshire has got to be pretty embarrassed right now…
It’s “Why the ‘bastards’ matter”, actually. It’s an attempt of sorts to remind those who are anti-American that it is important to keep good relations with the US. Don’t believe me? Check who came up with the map.
That map is far from perfect. For example, it puts Portugal (GDP 230 billion) on par with Kentucky (GDP 140 billion). And it isn’t per-capita icome either, since Kentucky’s is near the 30 thousand dollar mark and Portugal is slightly over the 22 thousand mark.
