Old Books on Korea Galore

Over at Gusts of Popular Feeling, Matt has linked to several old books on Korea available for viewing at Archive.com.  Great stuff.

Of particular interest to our friends at Coming Anarchy is Problems of the Far East: Japan-Korea-China, by none other than George Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Marquess Curzon of Kedleston.

How’s this for a book dedication:

To those who believe that the British Empire is, under Providence, the greatest instrument for good that the world has seen and who, hold, with the writer, that its work in the Far East is not yet accomplished, this book is inscribed

What I want to know is how a guy like Curzon could have climbed up the imperial ladder so without a walrus mustache.

    I was going to do this very thing—post a list of books from there—but the Internet Archive was running so slow the day I tried it out, that I gave up on the endeavour.
