As a result he developed gangrene in his legs and genitals, which had to be amputated.

Well, that doesn’t sound pleasant…
3 robert neff June 22, 2007 at 12:24 pm: I was going to say – this sounds really old news. There are a number of articles scattered throughout the net of the Russian military pimping out their young soldiers.

I remember I also came across that suppressed article on the Child Porn market – a Western blogger in Russia did a posting on it using local newspapers (Russian) and was attacked for it (in print) for daring to print it and challenging his sources. Russia seems to be the place for a lot of great stories (great for a journalist) but also a great place to end up with a hole in one’s head
