A photo I took a couple of weeks ago. 1,200-px version here.

Is that the scenery from Peppermint Candy where the main character kills himself?
lol never mind.
Seungil-gyo is the bridge on the right, yes? Why is there another bridge immediately to the left? Is the other one on the other side of the border? (Apologizing in advance for the stupid question.)
Yes, the Seungil-gyo is the concrete bridge on the right. The bridge to the left was built because the one on the right grew too old and obsolete for modern Korea’s traffic demands. In fact, the Seungil-gyo — now a protected cultural property — has been closed to traffic. You can walk across it, though.
Ah, ok, thanks! It is a neat image.
Wow, even Cheorwon. Is there anywhere in South Korea you haven’t been to, Robert?
Actually, I’ve been to Cheolwon twice, the first time some six years ago.
And since you ask, I’ve never been to Jeju Island, strangely enough, and perhaps even odder, I’ve never been to be Mt. Seoraksan, even though I have been to Sokcho.
Okay, that is strange, but if you’re into getting off the beaten tourist track, then maybe not so strange.
It’s really strange to not have been to Seorak-san… It’s some of the Best. And plenty in it that’s not too “touristed”…
