Finally, a crime story with a difference! I figured the guy was just drunk, but according to the story, he’s a yacht-owning English teacher…that’s a new one. Does he sail from port to port and teach to make money?

Anyhow, the story estimates the winch’s value at 900,000.

Golly, what’s the tariff on that?

And yes, winches can be $1000+. A decent cleat will set you back $50+. All the tackle, halyards, etc. runs $20 - $150 per piece.
