Tom Clancy’s EndWar

Tom Clancy’s last couple of novels may have left something to be desired (well, at least The Bear and the Dragon sucked), but damn, Ubisoft has been producing some kickass games, and this looks flat-out awesome [IGN]. Makes me want to pick up a PS3.

I liked Bear and the Dragon. It’s when he writes spy thrillers that he stumbles on. Plus, his NetForce books suck. Tom Clancy has become more of a brand name nowadays rather then an author. I think his best book was Executive Orders. A 1,000 pages and the book melted like butter into my hunger, hot mind. Anyways, I talk about the PS3 and it’s desperate need for a “killer app” game on my blog. Gots a nice picture of Jun Ji Hyun and her legs…

If you were looking for characters with any more than 1/100th of an inch depth, Tom Clancey always sucked. But he was a master of at keeping the action moving, and integrating idealized descriptions of high tech gimmickry.

Larteguy was the master of military fiction, though somewhat dated by now, and Perez-Reverte does very well at nuanced suspense and historical fiction.
