And on the “Let’s create a positive Internet culture” front, actress Ko So-young plans to sue an additional 102 netizens [Star News, Korean] for posting malicious rumors about her on bulletin boards, cafe sites and blogs. She’s already suing 35 netizens for libel [Chosun Ilbo, English]. In an effort to get on the actress’s better side, let me be the first to post that I think the whole dot-on-the-nose thing is cute.

‘…I refrained from direct response and instead asked the portal sites to delete the comments, hoping that the rumors would naturally be revealed to be false,” Ko said.(from the Chosun article)
Let’s assume that she was actually libelled on some message board. Isn’t it odd for her to conclude that, by deleting some comments, free speech would somehow ‘naturally’ take over and rectify her problem? If critical remarks are removed, how might they then be revealed as false? At that point, there would be nothing to reveal, at least on that message board.
You’re in MAJOR trouble! That’s not a dot. It’s a freckle.
Miss Ko! Look over here!
