I think the budget and special effects in this podcast looks about like what they spent in X-Men 3. Ouch for them, good for Joe and the kids.

In a related note, I got my new tie for the year.
Also, I think that could be a good teaching tool for the kids. I would like to hear an update in the future on how it works for them.
I enjoyed that, and I am sure the kids loved it.
I have a student (university) who is on the verge of failing my class. He tried to give me a Lotte certificate in the amount of W 100 000. I refused and told him to take his parents out to dinner instead. If he feels like buying me a beer during the university festival tomorrow, fine. (I’ll buy one for him too!) Otherwise, the whole situation makes me feel pretty bad.
Anyway, my 4 year old’s kindergarten was a holiday today, most likely because of bribery. Local norms aside, I will not buy into this ‘holiday’. This really bothers me. I’ve been here 10 years, and this still really makes me feel kind of sick…
What? No evil villain played by English teacher?

At the university level, you might get a can of coffee, a flower, or something small. It’s a nice gesture, and isn’t related to bribery as far as I can tell.
In the public system, bribery has been a huge problem. (I know some parents who send their kids to private elementary schools. Not only is the education better, they claim, but teachers don’t ask for extras.

That would creep me out too. Nice sentiment I guess, but a little over the top.
Does anyone know what software he used to make these videos? The special effects seem incredibly elaborate….it’s impressive.
geronimo the FX software is listed in the credits. I can’t remember but if you go back and watch it, it’s there.
The software comes from a company called FXhome. And it’s an actual legitimately purchased copy. Go figure. Relatively inexpensive for the results. And the light saber effects are really good (one of the class movies I’m working on has a pretty good light saber battle).
