She’s hot, but I’m tired of self-absorbed behavior by females in Korea — in real life and in reel life (media, CF, etc.). This ad typifies that trend. So does the Lee Na Young game-playing ad.
Related to the Kim Tae Hee ad: Imagine how many collective Korean women hours have been spent at home practicing that sexy dance. It’s got to be ready for when a senior demands it at a 회식 or MT. My Korean ex-girlfriend was a master at it, which came as a surprise.
By the way, a friend of mine taught Kim Tae Hee a couple of years ago. It was at a hagwon near COEX. She’d come in once or twice a week for lessons.
My friend said that the other male teachers at the hagwon knew her lesson time and would conspicuously find something to do in the lobby so that they could witness Kim Tae Hee’s arrival.
It’s ironic that my friend is gay and had the fortune to teach her. He liked her a lot — for a while. He said, only half-jokingly, that she was so attractive that he was thinking of going straight.
Later, he started complaining about her being self-absorbed. He said he made it a point not to compliment her about anything.

Personally, I find Kim “Korea’s Gwyneth Paltrow” Tae-hee to be incredibly over-rated. And no, I don’t care that she goes to SNU.
