I believe we're mixing apples and oranges. China was never "colonized" by Europeans (or Caucasians), but it was subjected to neo-imperialist treaties that gave the Europeans (and U.S.) treaty ports and rights to a presence at Beijing, as well as immunity from the Chinese legal system.</description>
