after the recent FTA, I concluded that every President in the ROK had something bad they did and something respectable they did in office.

Regarding this matter, it might be an elaborate way for Roh Moo Hyun to reward his buddies with big times pensions. That is what I think this is about. It's a scam, man !

Lord, "gbnhj", that is so Chosun Dynasty (in a bad sense). I sense that this government largess needs reform badly.

The Korea Herald had piece a couple/few years ago describing the tremendous cost to taxpayers created by the Blue House's constant changing of ministers. Apparantly, due to their having served even short terms in the public eye, and having at times been let go in less than honorable conditions, they are all supported by a special government pension. Perhaps someone can find the link - it's a rich read.

I recall that one of the arguements made in support of this pension was that, due to their former role, they could no longer be expected to take public transportation - as if they ever would!

Perhaps now is a good time to have a revival meeting since there are so many ministers floating around.

Ba-da-dum!

I want to be a minister too. Is it too late?

What is really pathetic is that the outgoing Minister of Culture and Tourism seemed to be a very decent choice and an advocate for a culture of quality, rather than "how can we make money out of our culture?"

That's why they call it the "Partipatory Government"---because everybody's participating!
