I have a major post in the works for tonight. In the meantime, here’s a preview of the photos I shot this weekend visiting some of Korea’s old Catholic churches:

Gupodong Catholic Church in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Built in 1922 (1,000px version here)

Gamgok Catholic Church, Gamgok-myeon, Eumseong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. Built in 1930. (1,200px version here)

Yakhyeon Catholic Church, near Seoul Station. Built in 1892. (1,200px version here)
As I said, the main post should be up tonight.

I think the one in Yakhyeondong had a major fire in my lifetime.
that’s a lot of lens distortion.
If this is the appetizer, I’m looking forward to the main dish!
These churches are really nice. I will try and remember to visit the one by Seoul Station the next time I am out that way.
I went to Daegu’s Gyesan Cathedral just yesterday. The Catholic churches of that era are gems, and their small size makes them all the more beautiful. I can’t wait for the rest.

This is probably my favorite collection of pictures that you have put up yet. Very beautiful…I envy your ability to travel all around the country….and get paid for it……
Great pictures
robert neff—It gets better tonight. BTW, this trip was on my own dime
I also enjoy the churches in particular, but also the other architectural shots you share. Speaking as a browser from outside of Korea, I do hope we might also see more close-ups of people from your lens as well.
