Catholic churches of Korea: a preview

I have a major post in the works for tonight. In the meantime, here’s a preview of the photos I shot this weekend visiting some of Korea’s old Catholic churches:

Gupodong Catholic Church
Gupodong Catholic Church in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Built in 1922 (1,000px version here)

Gamgok Catholic Church
Gamgok Catholic Church, Gamgok-myeon, Eumseong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. Built in 1930. (1,200px version here)

Yakhyeon Catholic Church

    I think the one in Yakhyeondong had a major fire in my lifetime.

    These churches are really nice. I will try and remember to visit the one by Seoul Station the next time I am out that way.

    I went to Daegu’s Gyesan Cathedral just yesterday. The Catholic churches of that era are gems, and their small size makes them all the more beautiful. I can’t wait for the rest.

    I also enjoy the churches in particular, but also the other architectural shots you share. Speaking as a browser from outside of Korea, I do hope we might also see more close-ups of people from your lens as well.
