The area around Banweolsong Fortress site is covered with fields of spectacular rape flowers, backed up by cherry blossoms:
Judging from my Flickr comments, I wasn’t the only one there on Saturday.
Here’s another panorama of Anapji Pond. No bass as far as I know, but I believe there were plenty of carp:
And here’s the obligatory front-facade-of-Bulguksa Temple [Wikipedia]-photo:
Bulguk-sa’s main courtyard, with the Seokgatap Pagoda (left) and the Dabotap Pagoda (right):
And finally, we have the sun setting over Gyeongju from the Seokgul-am Grotto [Wikipedia]:
I have a ton of other photos, but most of them I’m saving for SEOUL magazine.

The sun setting over Seokguram? That must be from the pavilion by the parking lot, which I vaguely recall exists. You would, however, see a nice sunrise from just outside the grotto itself, however. (Is the jewel in Buddha’s forehead not placed so that it will capture the sunlight at a particular moment in the morning and illuminate the whole cave?)
Yer correct on all that, sewing. That shot’s from the Bell Pavilion above the parking lot at the trailhead. The former jewel would’ve captured the sunrise, esp at Winter Solstice i think…
Anyway, great shots Robert!
The facade reminds me of something…plans vs facades and Hanford Yang, but I’m not going to tell the secret.
Nice shots, especially the last one from the pavilion. Still cool enough outside to hike up there from Bulguksa in comfort. Gotta get back to Gyeongju sometime soon…
