[Marmot's Hole] Well, Yonhap is reporting that he went AWOL from his Korean unit [Yonhap News, Korean] this morning, and is believed to be hiding somewhere near his base. Has anyone been watching the French Foreign Legion recruiting office in Seoul? Maybe he’s on a tramp steamer right now headed for Africa.

If the FFL can’t keep him at his duty station then we’ll know it’s truly hopeless and that he really just wasn’t cut out for a military career.

Has there ever been a case of one man being sought for being a deserter from two separate armies of two separate nations at the same time? This is kinda cool. I hope he gets caught, just to see what happens to him.

My grandmother’s cousin was drafted by both the Swiss and French armies because it was unclear which side of the border his house was on. He ran from both for years then emmigrated to the U.S.
