The Marmot’s Hole

I have decided to lay off PC games this semester.  To fill the gap I have joined Superpower Classic, a forum-based nationsim.

To play, you set a budget, manage relations with your neighbors and (sometimes) send your boys off to war.  You can read the game’s new player guide for more information.  I think the next round starts in a week or two.  From the looks of it, you will run your country from April of 2007 (under current conditions) through 2 or 3 years.

Alas, both of the Koreas were taken.  However there are still some interesting countries left including Thailand, Algeria, Peru, Iraq, Ethiopia, Libya and Lebanon (although I suspect that Iraq and Lebanon might get shopped out to more experienced players).   Click on the “Nations” button at the top of the page to see the list.  Then join the sign up for the forum and send a message to ”J.G” with a top five list of available countries you would like to have.

Just don’t plan on messing with Cambodia.

BTW, Superpower Classic is not to be confused with the PC game Superpower 2 (which also looks interesting, despite poor reviews).
